Launching Conference “Chinese Economy in the first six months and prospects for 2016”

In the afternoon of August 23, 2016, the VEPR’s Chinese Economic Studies Program (VCES), the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) of the Institute of World Economics and Politics (IWEP) organized the launching Conference titled”Chinese Economy in the first six months and prospects for 2016″

This conference gathered scholars, leading researchers in economic, politic and diplomatic sector from many prestigious institutions, organizations and agencies.

In the beginning, Dr. Nguyen Duc Thanh – President of Viet Nam Institute for Economic and Policy Research (VEPR) and Dr. Nguyen Binh Giang – Vice President of the Institute of World Economics and Politics (IWEP) deliver the opening remarks. Subsequently, Dr. Nguyen Duc Thanh chaired the conference.

  • On behalf of VCES, Dr. Pham Sy Thanh presented the report on China macroeconomic situation of the first half of 2016 with the following components: (1) Overview of the Chinese economy; (2) The total supply components; (3) The components of aggregate demand; (4) The macroeconomic balance; (5) The property market; (6) The capital market and currency market. The next section of the report is its outlook for the Chinese economy in 2016 to increase policy risks.
